About this outing
The Ruhr rises on the north-eastern slope of the Ruhrkopf and flows about 219 kilometres from here to Duisburg. At the spring you'll find a stone rondel and a memorial stone. It's only about 200 metres on foot from the hikers' car park, so it's easy with children too. The RuhrtalRadweg cycle route and the Ruhrhöhenweg trail start here, and the Rothaarsteig passes by as well. The nearby Ruhrquellenhütte serves food and drinks. The spring is freely accessible.
